Animation, TV and Film.

A few examples of articulated models I have made for both myself and commercially for several stop motion films.

The square bodied robot figure was made back in 2002-03, he was inspired by a character in a computer game.

The body was made from 1/8″ brass sheet silver soldered together then squared up with a fly cutter on the mill. The riveted angle iron is attached to the body by 12BA csk screws and the face is molded from silicon rubber and can be changed for different expressions. The eyepieces rotate to suit the situation, the telescope extends, and the spectacles hinge out to cover both eyes.
He stands 300mm tall, weighs just under 2kgs, and I lost count of the amount of hours I spent building him.

The fox skull and arms and legs were made for a school animation dept. The movie the grade 5+6 students made using the armatures went on to win a national award in 2014.
