Hold all sorts of awkward, delicate and hard to hold workpieces easily and securely.
Holds work both internally and externally.

The Flexi-Chuck is a versatile workholding system that combines the attributes and advantages of the following workholding devices in to one highly adaptable machine tool accessory -

• Lathe Soft Jaws  • Step Collets  • Mandrel Collets  • Cup Chucks  • Custom Fixtures

• Expanding/Parallel/Threaded and Taper Arbors

The system can hold delicate or awkward shaped workpieces either internally or externally so that a variety of machining operations can be performed on them.

It is ideal for second operation processes, prototyping and repair work and it can be used on a wide range of machine tools in the workshop.

The system comprises two main components.

1. The Chuck Body - is machined from 4140 heat treated high tensile steel and houses all the moving components. The chuck body can be mounted to most lathes, milling machines, CNC work-centres, drills, rotary tables and dividing heads, surface and cylindrical grinders and any other types of machine tools via a backplate, Morse taper arbor, or base plate.

2. The Aluminium Adapters - screw on to the front of the Flexi-Chuck and utilize a flexure mechanism so there are no actual moving parts forward of the chuck body to get jammed by chips or worn by abrasive grit. A rubber seal in each adapter protects the chuck's critical components from the ingress of any grit, chips and coolant.
The adapters are a consumable item and are available in three sizes - 50mm, 75mm and 100mm (2", 3" and 4") and two grades of aluminium -

2011 grade (free machining) - easier machinability in lower powered machines such as used in clockmaking, jewellery, model engineering etc.

7075 grade (high tensile) - is comparable in strength to some steels and is suitable for production work and repeat use on the same workpieces.
